With over 35 years of executive leadership and a lifelong passion for guiding others through personal transformation, Delois H. Smith stands at the intersection of clinical expertise and compassionate leadership.

As the Founder and President of Deep Waters Counseling and Consulting Services, LLC, Ms. Smith draws from a rich career in higher education, where she served in two successive Vice President roles at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her decades of service were defined by forward-thinking leadership, deep commitment to student success, and the ability to lead with both strategy and empathy.

Ms. Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) who brings a trauma-informed, culturally aware, and spiritually grounded approach to her work. Whether helping individuals navigate emotional healing or consulting with organizations on leadership dynamics and human development, her focus is always on creating space for growth, resilience, and restoration.

Her legacy is one of quiet strength, visionary leadership, and a heart for empowering others to go deeper—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
